On The Daily Show, Ms. Maddow calls Justice Scalia a ‘racist troll’ for calling a part of the Voting Rights Act a “racial entitlement” during a recent hearing on a case that wants to end the federal government oversight of the law. Signed in 1965 by President L. Johnson, the Voting Rights Act requires several states and counties with a history of racial discrimination to clear election-related changes with the federal government.
While Justice Scalia was simply arguing that states should longer need to get the federal government’s approval to make changes to their voting laws, Ms. Maddow resorts to name calling with a charge of racism.
Via Real Clear Politics, this was a REALLY funny take on the mainstream media’s coverage of President Obama’s second inauguration. Especially funny was the Daily Show team catching George Stephanopolis mistaking Bill Russell for Morgan Freeman.
Jon Stewart and the Daily Show team obliterate the Obama Administration for their (wrong) hunch about the assassination of Libyan Ambassador Chris Stevens. This was fun to watch while waiting for the interview with Arnold Schwarzenegger.
The recent White House debacle surrounding the Libya attack spurred Jon Stewart to unveil a new segment on Monday night: “Do You Guys Ever Talk To Each Other Or…” (The apparent answer would be a decided “no.”)
For a while President Obama‘s response, through his press secretary, declined to call the attack and act of terrorism, emphasizing the ongoing investigation. And also pointing to the anti-Islam video that triggered protests throughout the Middle East.
Unbelievable. The hypocrisy from the Democrats knows no bounds. The same leftists who bash Mitt Romney for his wealth for following the law. Great job by the Daily Caller.
How bad was MSNBC’s coverage of Republican Governor Scott Walker winning his recall election in Wisconsin Tuesday?
Well, the Daily Show’s Jon Stewart on Wednesday renamed the network “MSNB-Sad” saying that it “passed through all the stages of grief last night” (video follows with transcript and commentary, serious vulgarity warning):
Nobody covers political coverage as good as the Daily Show. Here, in part I, Jon Stewart discusses Michele Bachmann’s win in Iowa and Rick Perry’s jolt of excitement, and why Ed Schultz thinks Barack Obama is Rick Perry’s black cloud. Jon Stewart comes to Rick Perry’s defense in a spirited (and funny) discussion that takes place in part II.
