Lawmakers Hand $1 Billion To Small Airports

USAToday reports that: Airports that cater to private planes have received $1.1 billion since 2001 from lawmakers through earmarks. Around $100 million of that money has gone to low-priority projects at airports that are mostly used by private pilots and would benefit corporations with private jets. Analysts have warned that this type of spending could cut the money available for truly important projects at the country’s busiest airports.
