More Millennials Living with Their Parents Thanks to the Federal Government

Out of control spending by the federal government is destroying the future for millennials by limiting economic opportunity for them.

A Congressional report released Tuesday found that millennials are not feeling the impacts of the economic recovery.

The Joint Economic Committee’s report added to what’s become a long list of economic data showing that millennials are delaying major life decisions such as buying a home and getting married.

In 2003, nearly 40 percent of Americans between the ages of 25 and 34 headed a household. In 2013, the rate declined to 37.2 percent.

Meanwhile, the percentage of millennials living with their parents has increased from 11 percent before the recession to 14 percent, according to the report.

The Washington Wizards Get Outplayed in Dallas

The Washington Wizards, 7-2 versus the West going into last night’s game, got thoroughly outplayed by the Dallas Mavericks who did what the Wizards do best – get in passing lanes, great transition, run the court – last night and lost 114-87. Tough game 2 of a back-to-back especially when it comes against a tough team like Dallas. Recap and highlights at the link in the title above.

Heisman Winner Marcus Mariota – Going All in For God

It will be interesting to see how Marcus Mariota’s career goes. He is a first-read QB coming out of college. In the NFL, you have to be able to get to your 2nd and 3rd reads real quick. Here’s hoping he has more success than his predecessor’s Johnny Manziel and Robert Griffin III. Good to know though that he has his priorities straight.

It was no surprise to college football fans that Oregon Ducks quarterback Marcus Mariota won the coveted 2014 Heisman Trophy as the outstanding player of the year.

But given the controversy sometimes associated with the sport, it’s refreshing to know that Mariota’s character and faith run as deep as his talent on the gridiron.

Mariota, who graduated from the University of Oregon earlier this month with a science degree, said that his Christian faith affects his efforts on the football field in his interview with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), an organization he became involved with in high school.

“Being a football player, faith plays a huge role,” Mariota told FCA Magazine in an article published prior to his senior year.

The Washington Capitals Lose a Close One in Long Island

The Washington Capitals, looking to continue their season on a positive note before the Winter Classic, looked flat for the first two+ periods last night against the New York Islanders (see video highlights above).

The Caps turned it on midway through the third to make what should have been an easy victory for the Isles into a close one. Sadly, Kuznetzov committed a serious high sticking penalty at the end of regulation that the Caps couldn’t overcome. One thing I noticed about the Islanders is they are real quick and skate really, really well. Kudos on the Caps for making it a close one.
