Court Rules Against George Zimmerman in NBC Defamation Case

This was going to be a hard one to prove without the testimony of an NBC employee who could testify to the malice intent. Read the ruling at this link (PDF).

SANFORD, Fla. – A judge on Monday ruled against George Zimmerman in a defamation lawsuit he filed against NBC Universal over edited 911 calls made after Trayvon Martin was shot and killed in 2012.

In the ruling, Judge Debra S. Nelson said, “There are no genuine issues of material fact upon which a reasonable jury could find that the Defendants acted with actual malice.”

In a hearing earlier this month, Zimmerman’s attorney said NBC manipulated the call to make it seem like Zimmerman was chasing Trayvon Martin because of the color of Martin’s skin.

Larry Elder Smacks Down Piers Morgan Over Zimmerman Trial (Video)

Via Hot Air, Larry Elder explodes at Piers Morgan when the discussion turns to Trayvon Martin’s friend Rachel Jeantel. Like Charles Barkley, it’s good to see people telling the truth on TV. Kudos to Piers Morgan for refocusing the discussion after Mr. Elder got going.

Enjoy.

Whoa: Charles Barkley Agrees With Zimmerman Verdict and Blasts Media Over Coverage (Video)

Considering that the FBI spent substantial time interviewing people who knew George Zimmerman and could find NO evidence that Zimmerman is a racist, I do not believe there was racial profiling in this case but otherwise, Charles Barkley nails it and speaks the truth.

NBA legend Charles Barkley appeared on CNBC’s Closing Bell with Maria Bartiromo Thursday afternoon and shared his incredibly diplomatic views on George Zimmerman’s acquittal. “I agree with the verdict,” Barkley told Bartiromo. “I’m sorry that young kid got killed, but they didn’t have enough evidence to charge him.”

Barkley admitted that he did see some “racial profiling” in the case, but said “something happened that changed the dynamic that night.” He recognized what he was saying was “probably not a popular opinion among most people,” but “looking at the evidence” he said he agreed with the jury’s decision.

He also called out the media for not having a “pure heart” when it comes to race. “Racism is wrong in any, shape or form,” Barkley said. “A lot of black people are racist too. I think sometimes when people talk about racism, they say only white people are racist, but I think black people are too. I don’t think the media has clean hands.”

Despite Zimmerman’s “racial profiling,” in Barkley’s assessment, “Trayvon Martin, God rest his soul, he did flip the switch and start beating the hell out of Mr. Zimmerman.” He added that he “feels bad” that the trial gave “every white person and black person who is racist the platform to vent their ignorance. That’s the thing that bothered me the most. I watched this trial closely. I watched these people on television talking about it. A lot of these people have a hidden agenda. They want to have their racist views, whether they are white or black… They’re biases come out.”

Did the Media Get the Zimmerman Trial Wrong From the Start?

Great read over at USA Today on whether or not the media (liberal media that is…) got the George Zimmerman trial wrong from the start. Click this link to read it.

Photos of Zimmerman’s Great-Grandfather Raises Questions About Racial Profiling

This photo should only be news to you if you haven’t paid attention to the case. This photo of George Zimmerman’s great-grandfather should raise significant questions as to whether or not Zimmerman racially profiled Trayvon Martin and is yet one more reason why the federal government will have an extremely hard time bringing a civil rights or hate crimes case against George Zimmerman.

Just ask the FBI.
