Robert Griffin III performed magnificently in the first quarter and then he did something not many QB’s can do. On the first play of the 2nd quarter, RGIII extended a pass play by rolling to his left then throwing back across the field on a 26 yard dart to Fred Davis. There aren’t many QB’s that can make that throw.
On defense, the Redskins continued their strong patient play against the Saints punctuated by a strong play from Cedric Griffin on Marques Colston. Griffin was beaten on the play then forced a fumble after Colston made the reception.
I didn’t like the Redskins play calling at the end of the half. They went very conservative on offense which led to a punting situation with 46 ticks left on the clock. The Saints special teams blocked the punt and returned it for a TD.
20-14 Redskins at the half.
