RGII took the Redskins down the field on a six-play 77 yard drive capped off by a one-yard TD run by Alfred ‘Bam’ (too early?) Morris. The Redskins were helped out by a pass interference penalty on the Saints in the Redskins end zone on a 4th and short.
This quarter also saw the Saints with their longest drive of the game. The 12 play drive was capped off by a 21 yard field goal by Garret Hartley. The key on this drive was a key third and goal read by the ageless London Fletcher and his stop on the speedy & shifty Darren Sproles.
Toward the end of the quarter, the Saints were called for 12 men on the field on a punt by the Redskins which gave the Redskins a new set of downs. Somehow, I don’t see something like that happening if Sean Payton were coaching the Saints and not a interim interim Coach.
Billy Cundiff is three for three today all from the left hashmark. It is so nice not having to get on my knees during a FG attempt by the Redskins this season.
